There really isn't much that can be done with highlighting the peace sign because of the angle of the shot unless you really blur out the surfer and just put a spotlight on the fingers (not so nice IMHO). Here's my take on it....some croping just to bring the focus more on the surfer and not on the waves....

I like the crop I never thought about cropping the image but it seems to work well to isolate the surfer.

Nice shot ASP, although I do agree with leni here, I think it looks better cropped, too much wave in the original photo you posted.

Leni, how did you go about blurring the wave and not the surfer?
