In case you're worried, I've changed avatar as I got a nice haircut today, so don't freak out if you don't see that blonde colorized avatar anymore. Now I'm all black'n'white.

One of my premiere shots with my new 24-105/4L lens took the picture... dang hard to take self portraits!! (The lens is nice, not sure yet I'll keep it, might trade it for the 17-55/2.8 IS though).

You did excellent with the exposure to get such little grain at 1600. Nice haircut, and nice eyes! I keep mine covered...too many compliments 8)

That's soo sweet Ronald, thank you!

I did run Noiseware anyway, even if I didn't feel I needed it if I had printed the image, but I often run it and then fade it to about 50-70% to bring back some grain (I kind of like grain). Should have shot in RAW though, easier to fix the WB issue.

That's a good photo! A photographer who works for me uses a 5D and 24-105L (among other cameras and lenses) and the photos come out incredibly sharp. The 17-55 F2.8 IS and 20D combination doesn't seem to come out as sharp for me. Just something to consider.

tim, I don't have the 5D but I'm sure it's a nice combo. A collegue has that combo and she loves it for portraits. Odd that you say that the 17-55 isnt' sharp, that's supposed to be aimed at the 1.6x bodies as the 20D/30D, etc. Many I've talked to says it's tack sharp wide open.

Marueeen, I have no idea. It must be the new lens, as I just turned 44 a few weeks ago and I hate the look I get in the mirror every morning! I was amazed myself how young I look. :D

Mark, yes you may say so.... thank you!!! (love your Borat avatar!) :D
