If there is no film in the camera... and you close the film door or press the trigger button... I dont hear the motor inside the camera advance the film forward...

Is this a problem, or the motor only works when it sences film installed?

Did you put a roll of film in it to test it? I usually have some freebie film from something I went to. Don't you have anything lying around you can use?

It only advances when film is loaded in the camera.

I am not sure with the exact model but my last camera had a quick load feature and it would sense when film was present with a little switch so when you closed it with film loaded it would automatically wind onto the take up spool no film the motor did not turn.

Agree, motor only works with film. As suggested, buy a cheap roll of film and play with some of the options ... it comes in handy when you want to rewind before the roll of film is done so you can finish it later.

BTW ... How do you like the "eye control"? I liked it but don't use it because it kind of throws me off when I grab my 10D and forget it doesn't have it.

Exactly, with the 7ne, it detects the film by the metal contacts on the outside of the film container, sets ISO and activates the motor.

GOT IT GUYS.... I was at work when I got it, and didnt have film, so i got worried.

Went home, loaded some cheap 400 speed film and off it went. Motor works and everything seems cool so far.

Not a bad camera.
