Funny! Thanks, that is a relief that you agree with me. Anybody else? All the stuff I read says if you can identify private property then it needs a release, but in this photo the city is the subject of the photo, not any specific building, and it seems ridiculous to go around getting property releases, not to mention the major limitations to creative freedom if one business or homeowner says no. I'm thinking about giving away a desktop wallpaper with my website marked in two places. Any thoughts?

After a quick read on the net, I think that you are safe to use this photo the way you intend to as there doesn't seem to be anything readily identifiable. Which is not to say an overzealous property owner who takes a magnifying glass to a large hi-res copy of this image wouldn't try to sue you. :)

Actually I should clarify that I'm also going to sell this in a lightbox frame at an art gallery. It sounds like, given the slight possibility that anybody would care, I would end up winning in court. Hopefully the judge would dismiss that as just a frivolous lawsuit and I wouldn't have to deal with legal fees...
