As the title says i wont be doing any photography for the forseeable future as i had an accident an shattered my elbow. I had to get it reconstructed with metal plates an pins an i cant hold anything with it for 6 to 8 months. There is considerable weight in my camera equipment an i dont want to push it as ive lost about 70% use/movement of my arm as it is an they said i wouldnt get it back

Ouch...
Hope for a speedy recovery.

Considered helmet cam, with a remote release? Then you really get your perspective...

Bad ladder

OUCH!

Really sorry to hear that.... I'd recommend you take care of your health first and worry about photography later. That having been said, maybe you can wield the Ixus with your good hand - this is definitely one situation that calls for a tiny point and shoot!

You'll soon get to grips (pardon the pun) with one handed photography.
My left arm and hand are paralysed and I can manage my 1DMkII with 400L ok.
The hardest thing to master is stretching your fingers to press multi buttons.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
John

It would seem you could use your cam on a monopod with a single arm/hand. It'd be annoying at first, but it's either that or nothing, eh?

Very sorry to hear that. If you were in the good old US of A, you'd have a great lawsuit. Though, as a volunteer and not a paid worker, it'd be tough to win.

Now, if you don't mind me going to a lighter note, want to sell your camera? It's gonna collect an awful lot of sensor dust just sitting around.

Leave it to me to try to profit from your misery.

(Hope you took that in the fun spirit I meant it.)

Get well soon.
mark
PS: Now about that camera.

Dude.... I really hope you get better soon.

A few years ago, before i started photography, i broke my talus bone in my ankle, and i was on crutches for just over 4 months.

I pray that nothing like that will ever happen to me, because the camera would have to go on the shelf for a while. Im sorry that it happened to your arm, now it is near impossible to shoot.

Hope you get better, and back to shooting when you heal.
Take care, and enjoy the time off. Just go places without your camera, and enjoy being outside. Most of all..... stay away from the ladders!!! ;)

oh, my gosh, Stevie. I'm so sorry. I wondered why I hadn't heard from you in a while.

Prayers and thoughts sent your way for a speedy recovery. I'm here if ya need to talk.
