Every Tom, Dick and Harriet seem to have their own social thread on POTN these days. So why not academics too? This is intended to rectify that lack of cortical focus.
By "academics" I mean folks with a bona fide doctorate of phylosophy or sciences. The medical "doctors" i'e., physicians and chyropractors, dentists, optometrists and such do not qualify. Specialist MD's do.
I know of a few already......Woo Wee, Keppler and Conduck (honoris causa).
So come outta that closet and join us.....this is your thread.

My daughter loves pumpkin pie. Let me know when you turn those into some. We'll be right over.

As Belmondo, our low flying moderator extroadinaire said recently in response to your and Condik's other post, my IQ is also slightly above room temperature so I surely don't qualify to participate herein.

So, as Peteee said, come out wherever you are, you academicians.

The Doctor with no specialty other than piss poor attempts at humor: YAKOV :)

BTW, Nice job stealing Pekka's avatar, in reverse. That may surely get you a spat in the corner facing the wall, and then writing on the blackboard a thousand times: I must not steal the general's avatar.

May just have to report you, you bad boy, you.

No, that's not "Pekka's avatar", that's Marlon Brando as Godfather in the eponimous movie.;)

In my book, one of the true Four Star movies. One of my absolute favorites. Saw it with my parents, both of whom are deceased. it was one of the only times I went to the movies with them.

And back then, I actually could sit through a movie without having to pee.

Pete:
An amazingly original avatar. He's pointing the other way. Now, I suppose we are left to determine which is his best side.

Lovely new avatar, Pete. Very appropriate.

Since I am not an academic**, I will now bow out.

**Actually, my brother is a retired professor, but I think that only entitles me to say, "My brother is a retired professor."
