Why are you getting the same lens twice? Make sure that the stuff also arrives before 10th December too! ;)

What's happening on the 10th.......;) ;)

I'm really loving the EF 16-35, so hopefully the 17-50 is a gooood. I'm amazing how wide 16mm is compared with even the bottom end on the 24-105mm.

Has anyone tried the push fit Lee filter adapter or do you all just use the screw in adaptor?

It's not how much kit you have, it's what you do with it that counts.......but at least L glass LOOKS good !!:D

Have a look here for Lee filters.

For instance the Starter Kit is £20 cheaper than Wharehouse when you include Marcos' free postage.

I've just bought a second Foundation Kit from them and I can't fault the service.

Karlu.com (external link) is also usually quite cheap.

I calculated on a big order Karlu were cheaper than Morco, but on smaller orders, Morco were cheaper as they offer free shipping.

I got my Lee stuff from Morco in several stages so the free postage was a boon.

I just checked out that Landscape filter set at the Morco site - looks like a graduated blue + a graduated yellow + a graduated yukky brown. I don't think you'll find that much use for coloured filters though others may disagree. I use Photoshop for colour changes - you can use gradient masks to simulate graduated colour filters.

What you must get IMO is more graduated neutral density filters - the starter kit only has a 0.6 (2 stop) hard edged. I recommend getting a 0.6 soft and a 0.9 hard as a minimum. Sets of 3 are cheaper though, so if you can afford it get a soft edged set and a 0.9 hard.

Second what Mike says, the 0.6 and 0.9 grads are the two that get the most use in my set-up. The only time I seem to use the 0.3 grad is when I stack filters.
So I would go with the starter kit (coral grad has some use)and add a 0.9 soft grad.

Agree with the 2 above.
I would go for....
0.9 hard for even horizons
0.9 soft for horizons with mountain scenery
0.6 soft for those days that you don`t need 0.9 or for using 2 together

That lens is pretty good i hear.
Another must (expensive, perhaps later on) is the larg CP for water reflections and saturation boost.

If you still want to get the landscape set , i have the sunset filter and the sky blue grad that i don`t use any more.

Why a 17-50mm lens on a crop body for landscapes? Personally, I'd suggest the Sigma 10-20mm which will give you a 16mm equivalent on a 1.6x body versus a 27mm equivalent with the Tamron. That's very much an appreciable difference.
