Some people have subjects where locking the focus is more important than locking exposure. For instance, anyone shooting a race (motor, horse, or foot) may want to pre-focus on the turn, jump, or finish line and let the exposure float so when a subject reaches there they can shoot without worrying about exposure or recomposing for correct focus. Correct me if i'm wrong on how it works. Let's say i'm outside on a sunnyday/blue sky. If I want to meter on the blue sky- I press and hold the * button and then recompose-focus with the shutter button on my subject and fire? Looking in the manual on CF 4-1 it appears that this works just the opposite. Press shutter halfway to AE and then press * button to focus. Is this a correct assumption on my part? Thanks, gerry Many here believe CF 4-1 is the better choice. I now have control over focusing separate from my shutter release. Try it, I did for a week and have not gone back since. That's actually pretty strange, left arm/right eye and vice versa. The lefties I have met were more of the left/left varieties. Doesn't right-brain dominance influence consistent left-ness for everything? 5DmkII, 17-40f4, 24-70f2.8, 24-105f4IS, 70-200f2.8IS, 50f1.4, 85f1.2mkII, 100f2.8macro, 135f2
