Im curious if anyone takes photographs, then sells them to businesses so they can place them up. Ive been thinking about taking photographs around my area that captures the culture and scene and try to sell them to say lawyers or other proffesional offices and local businesses. Does anyone do this, and if you do, do you make a resonable amount of money.....Im trying to do this just to pay off my bills of my camera and lens.......this is how im considering setting my prices.....Im thinking about charging $150 for an 8x10 photo with a frame and $250 for a 10x13 with frame and $500 for a 20x36 also with a frame. Do those prices sound crazy or are they common....thanks for your input.

Sounds like a reasonable idea and the prices seem in line with decent art photography.

The only advice I'll give is that you may want to talk to an IP lawyer first about it because, depending on what you shoot, you may need to obtain property releases or model releases before you can sell those images for profit.

It would most likely come into play if you have any identafiable people in the photo or if there is a unique and identifiable piece of architecture or building in the shot.

Talk to a lawyer, find out exactly what you may or may not need releses for and then good luck.

Go to restaurants or cafe's and askif they want to display your prints, then see if tourists and locals take an interest and buy them?

Most corporate and professional offices are decorated by interior designers, so I would send promotion literature to them as well.
