None of the above. Option 3 is a rip off. Get yourself a used or new XT and the kit lens and/or 50 f1.8

ah thanks for the help guys.

Okay as Jon was saying my $1000 is about $774 in US.

believe me if i had access to some of the online sites like you guys i would probably get them through there.
trouble is though where i am for Dslrs it seems to be new of a very limited selection of used...because believe me i dont mind, i just want something with abit more creative power than my current camera.

also...isnt a 300D a rebel XT and a 350D an XTi?

yeah to be honest i was wondering about the range of lens for the K100D also...

No!

300D = Original Digital Rebel
350D = XT
400D = XTi
:)

If you save up a little more you could get a used 20D.

I chose the used 300D on the poll, but after some thought, I'd recommend a 350D as a couple of others have suggested. It's got a number of improvements over the original 300D/Rebel.

Probably none of the above. It would probably be better to save your money for an XT and a decent lens. You can get a used 350D pretty cheap. Just watch the Classifieds here and the Buy and Sell forum on www.fredmiranda.com (external link). I'm sure you'll find one for the same price that they're asking for the 300D you listed above.

yea man I'd get a new camera with the very cheap 50mm1.8 lens and then start saving for more lenses while you get expert using your new camera!

You won't regret it over the choices listed in the poll. Depending on how serious you will be getting into it, you may want to skip the XTi and go straight for the 30D.

But the XTi will be a really great start for you. Much better than those others you listed. Good job!

Loo at it thees waye, do you want to be buying new cameras next year or lenses?

If you get the camera now that you would want in a year or twos time you won't outgrow your first camera too quickly and can get lenses instead

None of the above!!

Start hunting for a good SH 350D or 20/30D and some decent lenses. Are the ones you list EF-S? and does the 300D take EF-S?

Where was it BTW?

SH low mileage 350D and then if you are really strapped you can use a 50mm 1.8, tho' a tad long IMO on walkaround, or save for a 17-70mm DC Sigma which will meet most peoples day to day needs. Do you have any lenses at the moment from a film camra? If yes, then you may be able to sue adapters on the DSLR body. I have several and all beautiful lenses that work well on manual focus.

Ha ha ha no offense but did you expect people on a "Canon" forum recommend a Nikon or Pentax? Oh well I have seen crazier questions but I'll bite....Get the 30D you'll love it once you learn how to use it.
