Reminds me about the story about the american couple who went on a midnight sun cruise in northern Norway and the cruise line was sued when the lady found out it was the same sun as the one she saw when she took a midnight sun cruise in Alaska.

DOH!!!!

Hmmmm....maybe a tiny bit now that you bring it up...

I'm more freaked out about the fact that the light we see from the sky at night (stars....etc) is ___ years old....

So what does current space look like I wonder?!?!? :-o

That light is not years old, that light is coming from car dealership row. For some reason they think that each and every car needs to be illuminated with at least 25,000 watts of lights. ;)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

In fact, the light we see from the sun takes ~9 minutes to reach us.

we all take pictures of the same sun, no matter where we are?

I'm getting a bit freaked out wondering why I should be freaked out about this? ??? I mean, we're all on the same small rocky planet orbiting a single small yellow sun...

Which means when the sun explodes you won't know about it for 9 minutes. Live it up while you can.

Why is that relevant to the story? They have stupid people everywhere, even in Sweden.

First, I don't really believe the story. Second, if it is true, then who's the bigger fool? The Americans or their attorney? Wait!!! Their attorney was probably American too!! That would certainly explain everything....stupidity all around.

The fact is, a suit like that would/could never be filed....not in an American court anyway.

Now, let's talk about the woman in Stockholm who washed her poodle and dried it in the microwave oven. That story's not true, either, but just as entertaining IMHO.

No, but I often wonder what the Northern Hemisphere sky looks like at night. I often wonder wether we all see the 'same' moon and stars etc.

You see the same moon, but you don't see the same constellations as us....

You're jealous of "us" and we're jealous of "you"

Driving home from NYC this afternoon, the sun goes down around 5 p.m. How sad is that? Took some shots of Newark, NU with sunset off interstate 95. It's really a paradox. The world's ugliest landscape with the gorgeous setting sun. The sun can make any scene beautiful. :) It's one of a kind. ;)
