...Either that or he wants his picture taken with a good camera. :)

..even though it is of the back of his head!

I find (mostly) a great bunch of togs at events that I attend. Most will stop and have a real good chat (in between shutter releases), although there are one or two that I'm sure wouldn't spit on me if I were on fire!

I think it's just a fact of life - I'm sure there are these people everywhere - which is why we tend to bump into them so often!

I must get that Canon accessory that allows me to read other photographers minds, it seems to work well :-)

Hypothetical or not, whats the old story about judging a book by its cover?

I, with my 30D, and consumer level sigmas lenses, who has never shot film before, and dosn't own any primes, spent about 5 minutes today explaining basic studio light set up to a guy with a Nikon D2Xs and 3 high powered studio strobes and soft boxes that he couldn't get working properly.
He could afford the high end gear I couldn't, but knew how to use which he didn't.

Can you post a link to your gallery?

By the way - the above post is hypothetical. I'd just imagine myself as someone who knows the stuff and is working for money. At a level where you become a distraction. Or as the above poster pointed out - a little horndog.

Or maybe I'm just antisocial and don't want to talk to anybody while I'm shooting? Just because both of us have a camera, doesn't mean we're best buddies or something.

I don't think it's got anything to do with both having cameras, it doesn't cost anything to be civil to someone. If your busy and need to concentrate just tell the person that. I think there's a hell of a lot of snobbery and one up man-ship in photography. Personally I rarely get people approaching me if I'm out and about. Probably because I have a Mohican hair cut, and for some strange reason people can be intimidated by the way someone has their hair cut:)

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you. :p
