I bet that's where he gets gifts for his woman...
No way - too expensive. £20 for a "diamond dust" ring. I get them from Aldi or Netto.

They were selling an "amazing" Vivitar digital camera. The claims they made for the camera were; 1. It was 8 mega pixels "you only get that on professional cameras usually" 2. The 3x optical and 2x digital zoom "give the sort of range you can't get on any other small camera" 3. Vivitar is the most popular camera brand in the US. The best though was when the guy was talking through the functions. There is automatic mode - "automatically zooms for you" Movie mode - "you can make you own films" (what with the free 8mb SD card?) AV mode - for when you attach the camera to you video. ![]() TV mode - for showing pictures on your TV. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Would this be taking money by deception? Wow did I miss out how much was it going for these lame cameras alot of us have dont make very good movies

They'll tell you everything they think you want to hear. Like my boss says (a sales guy): "Tell them what they want to hear, make it sound like you're promising them the world, but don't promise anything." Sad thing is that sales folks even at places where you think that they should know better use this. I had a sales guy at a local camera store tell me straight faced that I really wanted to get the more expensive camera because it had 8.2 m-pixels where the one I was looking at had only 8. He said that when I would print, instead of a 5x7 I would get a 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 because of the fewer pixels. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

In my old Canon FD days, my favorite lenses were the Vivitar Series I's. They were amazing. The other thought I had in reading this was, you don't get much better information in the present-day retailers selling most of the camera equipment on the street. I've heard things from Ritz/Best Buy employees that made my skin crawl. There is an appalling lack of knowledge among people who are supposed to know. Vivitar Series 1 FD lenses were state of the art and if you wanted a flash with features the Vivitar 283 was the way to fly. Very amazing to see how they have regressed over the years. Very amazing to see how they have regressed over the years. The whole Ritz/Wolf/Best Buy experience is something to be missed. I swear they send their employees to misinformation school. The first indication I had that things weren't good at Vivitar was several yaers ago when I bought a small 35mm P&S. What a disaster! It went south on me after only a few rolls of really bad photos. I didn't bother to take it back to the store because It was too late to get my money back, and I didn't want another one. Later, I was looking at some Vivitar EOS lenses, and the quality was completely gone. I'd rank them right in there with Phoenix. I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!
