No snow yet Cuzz ?

My family in Kincardine Ontario have left for Florida to miss the bad weather, with this shot it looks like they've left a bit early.

Hello Cuz,

Yes actually it was 16C today and the forecast is low teens all next week. We were out and about today in T-shirts.

Jings!

Martin:

That shot evokes some considerable nostalgia. Although I've lived in BC for sixteen years, the previous (whole bunch) were spent in SK. True your pic is of an Ontario farm, but it could have been taken almost anywhere in SK (not all of SK is that flat though).

My dad was the only one of five siblings that wasn't a farmer or married to one, so the rural connection is very strong in me.

A perfect shot that captures the serenity of farm life so well. Thanks.

Thanks Glenn,

Perhaps I should upload a couple of images of what's left of Canadian farming in this part of the World. There are many run down farms, shots taken in B & W wouldn't look out of place in a WW11 war movie.

Sooner or later we have to realise that we cannot eat asphalt.

Nice to know how spur of the moment photos can bring back memories. Thanks for sharing yours.

Yer Cousin. :D

Quite different from the farmhouses of your native Scotland, but beautiful nontheless, and the low light makes this image, a touch of sky noise, but no big deal.

Hi Les,

Darned limitations of compressing pictures for the forum here. I didn't notice the noise on my LCD. Normal aspirated monitors are far better at resolving compression artifacts.

You are always very good with your technical comments without making the poster feel stupid. Your input is always welcome and I know others have enjoyed the same cordial responses.

Cheerio.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:,nice one Martin,very nice.

At least the very low sun was your friend here,it cover the whole scene with a beautyfull yellow/orange light that saturated the colours superbly.

Glad you are back.;)

Hi Dimitri,

The farm was on a corner over a hill. I came up out of the shadows and there it was. Cars behind me were too close for me to swerve into the shoulder so I drove about half mile up the road and decided to go back.

The shadows were literally crawling up from the bottom of the building as I stood there in the last light of the day. Had I been able to get closer and had one of those awesome 10-22mm lenses that you and Buggbairn have, I am sure it would have been a lot better.

Either way this is an unusually immaculate farm with a striking paint theme. Sadly it is one of the very few that are not rotting into oblivion.

Cheerio.
