It really stinks that Nikon chose to do this with one pro body while Canon forces us to choose, or buy two bodies. The D2X can shoot full frame at I think 5fps, and has an option to turn on a crop mode which raises the frame rate to 8fps. It sounds to me like that is what you are looking for, although I'm not recommending a switch to Noink of course. I had hoped by now Canon would have introduced the same option, which could pretty easily be done in firmware.
No one is forced to do anything - Canon offer far more choice; if you want to shoot action and don't need FF or to print huge sizes the 1D Mark IIN is awesome. If you want a FF you have two options the 1Ds Mark II or the 5D.
Nikon don't offer a FF body anywhere.
unless you have unlimited Hard drive space its still speed for action stuff
