Hello everyone.

Ok be gentle this is the first time that i have posted in the sharing bit of this forum.
I was out at lunch testing out my new 85mm 1.8 today and came accross a line of gulls, so i thought what better to test out the DOF on this new fast prime- one problem i forgot to put the IOS back to100 after messing with the lens after work lastnight DOH!!

Anyway what do you guys think- please be king lol.

OKAY, I AM KING! (even though I'm a gurhl)

And I decree that I like this photo...I like the composition and the DOF and I think it's well done. Have fun with your new lens. ;)

Very nice shot of a Black-headed Gull and I like the fade-away line-out in the background - good composition.

Did you do any PP processing? I would have tweaked the sharpness and brightness just a little on the main bird.

no pp yet. I am not sure how much i can get away with i foolishly left the camera set at 1600 iso!
When you say you would have adjusted the main bird, do you mean isolate it first or just adjust the whole frame?

Try both, but I would have thought just the main bird might be most effective.

I've forgotten to put the ISO back so many times, and ruined so many shots, I can't even count anymore! I think I'm going to attach a big red sticker to the back of my camera that says "ISO!" so I won't forget.
