Agreed. I have 9.5GB of cards for my 1D, but have only come close to needing it all while shooting paintball games (where action is so fast and varied, I have to "spray", as I cannot 'compose' where a 200mph paintball will be in flight) and a long weekend of drag races, which had over a hundred cars and bikes, each making anywhere from four to sixteen passes per day.

Few other events apart from those, have I needed even half a gig.

Doc.

Thanks for the replies. I am not flaming anyone and stray from the online useless internet flaming. Just wanted soem opinions. It seemed the first 4-5 replies in my opinion seemed kind of low. I would not get caught doing a shoot for osmeone with three cards in my pocket. Nothign worse then having a failed card or a camera oops and the card get jumbled.

I shoot raw only no matter the situation. I have a decent workflow and have automated 90% of it. So the large amount of files do not bother me.

For anyone wanting to start and argument or flame over my quesiton then please move on, I was just inquiring.

Gear List? My gear is bigger than yours? Just shoot have fun...

I went to my trip with: Two EXTIII 2GB, Two Lexar 1GB, and one normal scandisk 512mb.
I came back back from trip(2 weeks long) with more than 5000 shots(~45GB). All saved on my Epson P-4000.
