OK am i being totally random here...who is David Jay?

I ask that myself sometimes...lol...seriously...I am flattered that people like my work but I am just a normal dude who has had a lot of help along the way.

but then again you dont have to be earning thousands upon thousands to be successful right?

You're exactly right. I think John Maxwell has the best defintion of what success is:

  • Knowing Your Purpose In Life
  • Growing To Your Maximum Potential
  • Sowing Seeds That Benefit Others

Jasen I can understand you being a bit upset at some comments. Fro the most part it is just one.

As a beginner who has a bit over $5,000 in photo gear over the last 2 1/2 months, I come here everyday and appreciate just going through threads like this one. The encouragement to go out and shoot to become familiar and better using the equipment is mostly because I found this site. And from the amount of questions from other beginners, I'd say that is the general consensus here.

Please remember the good that you and others who have been into photography for so many years provide those of us just starting with answers and direction.

A Job Well Done!!

Thanks Soil....
I really try to help people here. I've not gotten to where I'm at today without others help. A vast majority of my own help has been from this board. I also appreciate some of the PM's i've gotten regarding the issues. I feel wanted again...heh

Kawter: Back off.... he's mine at WPPI!! (okay that sounded so weird!!) :)

David: You already know.... :)

Hey....if someone "famous" in the wedding world left me comments on my blog, i'd be stoked too buddy!
And David...sorry i didn't know who you were, im sure you aren't offended that a percentage of this forum don't know who you are haha...i am from Australia...and i guess we have our "Photog celebs" of our own here down under...
I don't think we should be getting ancy just because 1 person was stoked they got some nice comments. I think a nice comment from ANYBODY about MY work is great, and i encourage it HAHA
Anyway.....hope to hear from you more David, i checked out your site quickly last night and i like your work....
Pity i am getting out of weddings or i would pick your brains...portraits for me from now on, i so cant be bothered with the DRAAAMMMAAAAAAAA....lol

I'm personally excited that I got to correspond with David Beckstead over PMs today. :D Excellent photographer whose work was the first ever PJ style stuff I ever saw. Found his work on the WPJA site in 2004 and I was floored. Think his shots were what got me hooked on wedding photography in the first place.
