Eventually I'd like to round up my coLLection to 20 L's.
That would make it 36 Canon EF lenses total !!!!!!

ONLY THREE TO GO. The candidates are: 50 f/1.2, 14L MkII, 200 f/2.0 IS.
 Mwuahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahaha:evil:

Hi Petkal,

that would be an excellent collection, now if we can just get you to take photographs that arent either of lenses or ducks...

Happy collecting

Ahhh yeah, my bad, I forgot you took pictures of squirrels too. I guess the problem is that to get your 20L's you are going to have to buy lenses that you dont really want.

You dont want the 14 because you arent happy with the IQ/$ ratio
You dont want the 50 1.2 for much the same reason

However both of these are second hand opinions, so hire them, shoot them and see what you think.

And as for the 200 2.0 IS, well ... err, hmmm kinda hard to find a reason for this as you still haven't posted a gear list. Here are the instructions incase you couldnt find them. My guess however is that you have that range covered already, probably several times over.

So I guess you will have to find something else to have. I would make suggestions, but we've done that already.

All the best

BearSummer

Thank you for your moral support, Bear......if you could only extend it to a financial sort.;)
My gear list I am hesitant to publish because it would look kinda tacky to me.....people might think that I am flaunting it or something unsavoury to that effect.:D

The hypothetical 200 f/2.0 would have to be non-plus ultra in terms of resolving power/contrast for me to lust after it.

Thing is, al Dante lists lenses he wants alongside what he actually has, almost as if by so doing they really exist in his coollection, while you only list lenses you had way back when and haven't kept it up to date; so currently it looks to one and all like he is whipping your skinny Canuck ass and not even raising a sweat: it's the fantasist v's the forgetful   and you're losing son!

The hypothetical 200 f/2.0 would have to be non-plus ultra in terms of resolving power/contrast for me to lust after it.

So let me get this straight, you want me to buy lenses for you now.... you are gonna have to go a long way to get that one to fly :)

We had this discussion regarding flaunting vs information some time ago when people were adding their gear list to their sig files and it was just taking up to much space. IMHO its a good thing to list as it allows OP to ask questions of people with specific gear and also clears up the "haves" vs "heard abouts". Personally I think it would be a good idea and would make making lens suggestions far easier.

Regarding flaunting, you kinda blew that having three threads containing lens pictures and this one's really not helping.

So post a gearlist and be damned.

All the best

BearSummer

That is a gauntlet if I ever saw one ... let's hope his sweet daughter will bend over and pick it up for him. Then you'll get your pink ass whopped good son ;)
