Ok just had a quick play with Photomatix to see what it could do with this shot from Kracow. I am impressed with it, what do you think of this? All C&C welcome :)
Cheers Ricky

I'm impressed too.
Very nicely done.
Is Photomatix any easier than PSCS2.

Paul I have never tried to use HDR in CS2 so couldnt comment, but photomatix is very easy indeed, which is good news for me ;)
Thanks for the comment.

That is wonderful ! I wonder what you can do with painting it in Corel Painter and then having a wall size printed on canvas ?

Must add that the separation between the elements of the image
really gives a wonderful 3D effect.
Just out of interest, Ricky, do you have any more sky to play with above the building.
If there was it might just push the shot to another level. From bare fg through the busy people, up the building and into the great blue yonder. Just a thought.
Thanks for answering my question, must look at the software.
All the best.

I usually cringe when I see the words "First Attempt" and "HDR" in the same title ;) , but this is really well done.

Ricky, I've only done HDR with static shots (and water), but not with moving objects like people. How is the blend done in photomatix w/o seeing a mix of people images from the different exposures? I'm guessing you did some extra work in photoshop after merging in photomatix to get around that.

The picture looks great. I think this is a good example of an HDR that somewhat duplicates what the human eye sees.

Since the people are moving I'd be inclined to think this is a single image merged to render the exposure.

Either way it looks very pleasing.

Hmmm...possibly, but something about the building makes me think it's a multi-exposure blend. I could be wrong, though.

I wonder about the multi-exposure and moving subject aspect too! Nice photo, though I'd prefer slightly punchier colours something which I often see in HDR.

Ricky that looks great, the colours and final exposure are what make it for me. I have been playing around with HDR for weeks and I can't get anything close to this.

Did you extract a few images from one RAW in order to keep the people sharp?

Good work mate, however you got there....

I like it, how did you get such clear images of the people.
