When I have my settings to TV, AV, M, or C and I try to snap a photo, it takes FOREVER, and says busy. Then the photo is VERY distorted. Can someone help me and tell me what is wrong and ho I can possible fix it.

Also, I have been taking photos and a lot of them turn out grainy. I am trying to get used to these setting because I am going out to help with promotional photos for some friend of mine who are in a band, and I want to get some amazing clear shots. If you have any advice it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

-Brandon

Sounds to me like you possibly have your camera set to a slow shutter speed. As far as the grainy pictures go you have your ISO set too high. I would try resetting your camera to the default settings and go from there. Read page 81 of your manual and it will tell you how to reset your camera.

Yeah, maybe what Cindi said. Post an example with the exif attached.

Yeah, an example to show us the conditions that you were shooting under would help immensely, and the EXIF data as well.

I also think it sounds like you were using a slow shutter speed. That would explain why it takes a long time to take the pic, it would explain the "busy" warning after the pic is taken, and it would explain the distorted/blurry pic too.

I think you'll get into the same problem again just by re-setting. Try keeping the camera in P mode and use some of the suggestions in the site below.. there is tons of very good information on settings.

Just a thought... I was reading in my "S" series book recently, and one of the little things I picked up as I was re-reading...said that if you notice a 'slowing' of processing, they recommend you do a Low Level Reformat of your Plug In Memory. It is very easy to do... just follow the steps in the book. That *might* help your problem.. *I* have reformatted that little thing a few times... Sort of peps it back up...
