I accidently deleted my 2006 pics folder and need to recover it badly. Do any of you have and experience with a certain software that worked for you? Any help would greatly appreciated.

It was deleted by a program so it bypassed the recycle bin. The program was Nero.

I've used R-Studio with great success when an entire filesystem crashed on a 160GB drive. Got nearly everything back. It isn't cheap, but it works

What did you end up using to recover your files?

get zero assumption recovery software.

Ive used a few of their recovery programs to get pics off FORMATTED and written over CF cards.

I actually got back some pics from 3 shoots before, which means 3 card formats between.

That's normal, it's to do with directory structures and how deleting files actually works. Google can fill in the details for you.

I know it cuts ties with the data itself, but you figure after shooting 3 times and formatting after each one, somewhere you would be writing over everything ;)

ANother thing.

I just installed 2 200 gig hard drives. SIX HOURS after I did that, my 5 year old hard drive crashed, and I thoguht I had lost all my music and other personal files since I hadn't backed them up yet.

Luckily I had a 2nd non working drive that was semi formatted, which I had dragged everything onto, and I used restoration software to get all my precious stuff back.

remember to back everything up. I try to do it but sometimes dont have the energy to back up entire 60 gig hard drives, but it SUCKS once its gone.
