Ask where he gets his leads for finding new subject matter from, and is he free about passing on that information himself. If not, why not?

There seems to be a lot of secrecy around that, and I personally don't understand it.

When you go to an unfamiliar wildlife area for the first time, what criteria do you use to determine a good location to shoot from (besides the obvious--"where the birds are" :))? i.e., are there times when he sets up to shoot where there may initially be few birds, then waits for more to come to him? What can a newbie birder like me look for to choose good camera locations?

OK...here is one from a new bird photographer...

How does he get comfortable while he waits in the field for the right opportunity to present itself for a photo?

No chairs around, only rocks and trees and ground. They can be pretty hard on the body.

What technique does he use, to allow the wildlife to become acustomed to him?
Does he spend weeks stalking the same location, allowing the wildlife to get used to seeing him?
I have thought about buying a hunters Ghille suit, but that would look kind of strange running around like a sniper, don't want to get into trouble with the law or possibly getting my eyes pecked out by a GBH, not to mention the heat here in Florida during the summer months.

There are Lens coats with camoflage patterns available to help break up the Beige, Light grey / white of an L series lens.
I have noticed that Geoff Simpson uses lens coats on his camera gear when shooting wildlife, so is the same camoflage principle applied to the rest of your equipment and yourself to help blend into the environment?
