Only person to every say anything about it was a security guard, who complained my bag was to heavy while putting it on the conveyor belt for the x-ray machine. I already had weighed it, and knew it was under weight. The wind bag just wanted something to complain about Canon5DIII + Some L + Some non L + Some Sigma + Some Tamron + other stuff....

They didn't even look sideways at my monpod when I flew down here from Vancouver. And I flew on the liquid bombings day in August. I'm sure you'll be fine, people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional

The "normal" standard is 45 inches total of length + width + height (a 22X14X9 inch bag should be acceptable). I prefer to be a bit under, particularly on the 9 inch dimension as it gets tight in some overhead compartments. Anyway, this rule applies to photography equipment as well as other carry-ons. Some airlines, on some planes allow slightly larger, or slightly smaller. Tom
