Anyone have trouble bringing camera equipments onto the plane when traveling to the US (specifically from Canada)?

I have traveled overseas and then brought some back. Doesn't seem like it should be an issue at all. And it is singular, "camera equipment" not "equipments."

Are you expecting some kind of issue due to some particular type of equipment? Traveling with photo grear is pretty darn common/

Haven't flown from Canada to U.S, but I have from Portugal and China with full back pack and no problems.

I fly south quite often, with my Camera equipment in my LowPro Dryzone back pack with no problems. Only person to every say anything about it was a security guard, who complained my bag was to heavy while putting it on the conveyor belt for the x-ray machine. I already had weighed it, and knew it was under weight. The wind bag just wanted something to complain about ;-)a

Just 5 weeks ago I travelled by plane from London to New York, then to Canada and then down into Washington, then onto Florida, back to Washington and then London all within two weeks and had no problems with camera and equipment in my hand luggage.

You will have zero problems. They didn't even look sideways at my monpod when I flew down here from Vancouver. And I flew on the liquid bombings day in August. I'm sure you'll be fine,

I travel on a regular basis.

D60, 70-200LIS, 16-35L, 85 is minimum kit in a lowpro with accessories.

Regular kit is a backpack with a couple more lens, flash and more accessories.

Always carry on.

I was travelling so much for a bit, it was like security was cleaning my gear while swabbing it  for testing.

Don't give them a hassle and shoud be easy.

Note, security will not mind you opening the bag if you mention fragile electronics inside. They have always (with one exception in Hawaii from over=zealous idiot) let me open it for them and move lens and gear as needed.

I've taken pictures in airports, out of planes, etc.

Enjoy where-ever your going.

Under nearly all circumstances, the regulation size constraints for carry-on luggage are accepted. The "normal" standard is 45 inches total of length + width + height (a 22X14X9 inch bag should be acceptable). I prefer to be a bit under, particularly on the 9 inch dimension as it gets tight in some overhead compartments. Anyway, this rule applies to photography equipment as well as other carry-ons. Some airlines, on some planes allow slightly larger, or slightly smaller.

The only place I've seen problems with carry-on baggage is on very small "puddle-jumper" planes - those little prop planes and jets that seat 30-40 people. They typically will check your carry-on on the tarmac prior to you climbing onto the plane. Generally, you can re-claim that baggage on the ground next to the aircraft after de-planing.
