Hey all.
I would like to get a second camera body, 30D, but the 20d is good.... What do you guys think? Or should I get a 10d? The bodys will be used for such as parties, plays, concerts etc. But Im guessing wiht the noise, it would be best to get a 30d. Any views? Sorry mods it's in the wrong forum, but I changed the type a subject a little to a nother problem I have, need a nother body.

canon weight ;)

That is a great lens if you can get a copy without focus issues.

for the same money, you can get a sigma 30mm/1.4, which is raved about all the time on here... but no zoom.

I'd say if you can test the lens at a store or buy with confidence, the 18-50 could be a great lense. Play with the kit lens to see if the focal length will be good for your purpose.

Wrong forum, but I think the wider the better (within reason) for this type of thing. Also make sure to bring your flash.

Why not go for the middle ground between the 30d and 10d and pickup a 20d?

Pretty much the same as a 30d unless you desperately need some of the few added features between the two.

After much research when I first bought my 350D, I settled on the Sigma 18-50 and I can safely say it's a terrific lens. Obviously there are more expensive lenses out there that will perform better in one respect or another, but I found the 18-50 a great choice. We went on a 4 week vacation to New Zealand with this lens and didn't run into any problems at all.
