I made this one months ago, but I came back to work again on colours...

Interesting. Shame that the chair has very slightly blown a highlight there.

Looks very theatrical in a way, I like the distainful eye contact the model has, but the foot angle (the one on the ground) looks unnatural and uncomfortable.

If the bags were swapped around, it might make it a bit more obvious that she's waiting for her husband/lover to turn up.

The cigarette butt on the floor is a nice touch for the observant though.

Oh, and remove the highlight in the window, it's a little distracting.

Great PP work though, excellent colours and lighting and the background is handled well. To be commended.

(sorry for being a little picky and pointing out what are really minor issues, but you're a pro, you can take it!! ;) )

As mentioned, very theatrical look to it. The only thing that draws my eyes away from the model is the people in the background.

Very interesting shot, IMO this is what I see in this shot. I see her at a point where she has had enough of this life and city. That she is ready to move on to a better life.

Pete, thank you for pointing out the two highlight spots, I will work again on the chair from the raw and clone out the window one...But thank you above all for noticing the cigarette, I love the detail and few people pay attention to it...

This is actually from a dance spectacle, so the girl is not exactly posing. What attracted me to the scene was actually what Pafefile describes, which I think also was the idea behind her work, move away into a new life...

Thank you all for your comments. I have another shot of her that I will try to post soon...
regards,
T.O.

Ahh.. I understand now. The dance angle probably accounts for the placement of the foot, it's either how she landed, or how she wants to take off for the next movement.

I love the sense of movment in the other foot though.

Can't help thinking that the "waiting" in the title is referring to the audience waiting for a "Basic Instinct" moment? :D

Seems to be too much contrast which might have made the blown highlights, unless that is the look you were wanting.

I was definitely aiming at a high contrast image, although highlight control could have been better...
