After I pick up my jaw off the floor......Dimitri you certainly raise the bar quite high my friend, and make following in your footsteps so very difficult-but that's a good thing cause it makes me work much harder.

All I can say is....phenomenal

Great shots! Maybe just a tad more light on the rocks in the forefront??

I know what you mean,i thought about it,the thing is...thats the expossure i was after in the first place,if i brought it up a touch,i think i would lose that dark and warm mood.
However,a big thanks for the constractive comment, always taken in.;)

Amazing shot! I love it. I don't think there is anything that you could really do to make it any better. That's just my 2 cents.

Todd

Thanks Todd.

Dimitri this is an excellnt photo, great work.

Dan

Thanks Dan,appreciated buddy.

Brilliant! I love it.

Please tell us if you used ND grads, photoshop, etc.??

And good reminder regarding patience...

Stephen,i used a 3 stop hard Lee nd grad and a 1 stop soft nd grad, also the Lee polariser to avoid reflections on the water as much as i could.

95 % of the PP was done during the raw conversion with lightroom.

The sun is a 'she' not a 'he'

This is good, this is very good, no niggles from me

And how do you know ?
The last time i checked he had hanging.............oops,no i cann`t say that.:o:lol::lol:,cheers Les.

Very nice moody shot, the sea looks like dry ice

I presume the molar looking rock is dark due to a GND filter over the sky?

Very very correct,no point trying to bring some detail on it with PP,it looked unnatural.

Oh it worked mate, it definately worked

Fantastic shot Dimitri

Your a lucky man living so close to the west coast.

Patience and perseverance has rewarded you well mate

Thanks buddy,i promise you one of these days we will visit this place.;)

Excellent work Dimitri - you have an uncanny knack of cramming so much detail into your images, it really works. Excellent detail & content so well exposed. Canny job Dimitri.
Regards Alan.

Thanks Alan,very kind remarks,appreciated.

That's gorgeous Dimitri, and the conditions are so much better than when we were there together.

1000 times better John,almost ideal.

The exposure time is just right for the water effect and the lighting on the rocks gives the scene an ethereal air to it. Of course it means that my attempts pale into insignificance in comparison,

and my attempts of that last time were much worst than yours then, given the conditions, don`t forget that.;)

so another Troon visit is definitely. So, call me the next time you're desparate for company, and this time lunch is on me!

You`re on mate,you`re on....any excuse.

Awesome. I LOVE the detail in the rock and small stones in the foreground. They have a nice color to them as well. Excellent find and kudos to you for your patience as it definitely paid off.

love the textures and colors.. and all of the lines.. from the rocks leading your eyes to the left to the sun leading you straight out ahead..just very cool and that water looks almost surreal... Well done!

Im fascinated by this shot Dimitri! Another stunning shot from you, i especially like the last rays of sun on the foreground rocks and how the clouds and sun form a pastel canvas. I dare say that this is among your best shots :) Just Beautiful!

Lovely shot D. Initially I thought I wasn't keen on the big rock to the right as I didn't think it fit into the scene considering the foreground rocks are not in silhouette, but I think the image would be empty without something there, so nice work.

your homework served you well a great shot some times its years to get all the pieces together you know what you wont but you have to wait for nature to be kind ,the best are worth the wait

Wise words and i think i`ll stick to them from now on.:)

Pretty cool Dimitri... but that big rock in the puddle has spoiled it... and where is all the smoke coming from?

Hahahaha... yeah right.

Lovely moody shot as usual, your standards are such that I should just copy and paste the same compliments each time.

Always a pleasure to see Ayrshire in a different light, no matter how long you waited.
