I have that gut wrenching feeling that you get after you just spend a lot of money. Yep, I finally pushed the confirm button and hopefully within a few days I will receive my 30D; 17-40L; and 50 1.8.

I also am picking up Peterson's books on Exposure and Portraiture.

Thus I begin the waiting game (2nd day shipping) and the learning game (my first DSLR).

Now I need to go to work and earn some money.

Download the 30D manual from Canon's site and get a headstart on the learning.

Congrats! You chose a great camera and an especially nice lens (17-40L). Have fun and be sure to post some photos.

Why do women spend so much money on shoes?

Because a good pair of shoes and nothing else can make you feel a million dollars!

Why do I think I'd feel like a complete twat walking down Broadway clad in only a pair of pink 6" stilettoes?

I'm sure you'll look like a million dollars wearing only gold stiletto heels while walking along the Reeper Bahn in Hamburg :p

Man, I had that feeling too when I pulled the trigger on my 30D last month. You'll get over it as soon as you start shooting with it though. :D

At least you'll be able to take advantage of the double rebates!
