Swansea Bay

Hi

Over the weekend I was in Swansea for a friend's wedding but hung around an extra day to wallow in nostalgia (I scraped through a degree there) and to make a few images. The weather was hardly ideal, and I was suffering both the remnants of a long running cold, and rather too much Guinness, but I came up with a couple of images I liked :-

#1: The Thing On The Beach

The thing in the first shot looks interesting Mike, although it does appear a bit centred, and there is a 50:50 split with land and sky, and I think the composition has been weakened slightly as a consequence. I had a little play with levels on this shot, and darkened the sky and lightened the land. Both levels adjustments also had slight gamma tweaks to help bring out more of the midtones too. What do you think?

Yes. I think I was concentrating on getting the sculpture to reach out and grab the end of the Mumbles so much I forgot the basics

A subtle but distinct improvement. I'll have to try reprocessing the raw image tomorrow.

ROFL. It's _Wales_ man! They have church organs rather than bagpipes! If it were a derelict set of bagpipes, it would be a set from a horror story; where a normal set of bagpipes was left in a dark cupboard to become extra-ordinarily large and to grow extra pipes before opening the door and setting about brutally killing any Englishmen it can find

No1 is a really striking image I think.
