I've always wanted to try this with this scene, finally got some time off to go and do it. Downtown is all of 40 minutes walk from my home, but lately I seem to not be able to find enough hours in the day. C&C welcome

Well thanks everyone - there are lots of little shops selling handmade souvenirs (not the imported junk they sell in the straw market), jewellery and dress shops - Magically Delicious would love it!! As for the PP work, I did it using PhotoArtMaster software. It took about an hour and a half to get it looking how I had visualized it. I like the program for this type of effect better than Photoshop as it has so many more tweaks, and you actually use your mouse to "paint" the details, rather than just click and the whole picture becomes a "painting". You start your picture by choosing from several levels of sketched outlines, and add highlights and colour in as many stages as you want, adjusting hue, saturation, contrast etc as you go along and in whatever parts of the picture you want. It can be very absorbing working with this.

E-A, I don't think you could have picked a better scene to apply that effect to. Very nice work!

Thanks JT.

thought you might like to see the original image. It says something about how slow business is in the Bahamas right now, that I was able to photograph this scene with no people in it at 1pm - actually there were a couple of people, but I only had to wait a minute or two for them to leave.

Really nice effect! Reminds me a bit of the Dragan portrait effect I've seen many examples of but never attempted, being very amateur with dSLRs and PP. The original is very nice too but the transformation is incredible. I hope to get skills like yours in time!

Really enjoy your work on this one E-A. It's nice to see something creative once in awhile and this one is just that.
