Cheers Geoff and co :)

Can't say I have noticed anything on my 30D when using the f/2 or f/2.8 lenses. They must have to be L glass then?

Nope. Mine aren't L's remember ;)

no. might just be a limit of the focus drive. i really dont know that ive ever noted a difference. then again ive never shot one of my 2.8 lenses on a body that didnt have the sensitivity. im sure it helps a lot in low light.

I find it's more noticable when moving between focus points regularly.

I was playing with different focus points at a Rally a couple of weeks back and the centre point rarely failed to lock. The other points hunted occasionally.

come to think of it i have noticed that a lot. when shooting night football if i use one of the off centered focus points my accuracy goes down significatly

The only thing the 300d kicks butt over the Mark IIn is price. Period.

im not Geoff, but i believe that hes talking about the high sensitivity AF that is activated with f-stops 2.8 and larger. the 20D/30D has this mode in the center point only, not sure what all points on the 1D uses it

The centre AF point on the 1-series has this cross-sensitivity at f/4 or greater.
