So I bet a few of you saw my thread a few days back about drawing 8x10 crop lines on my 30d's focus screen. Well, I resolved the problem... by upgrading to a 5d!!!:D

Now the question is, what screen will offer me the 8x10 lines I need?

I found these two:

Ee-D Grid-type focusing screen

Ee Crop Lines (external link)

The Ee-d looks like a perfect 8x10 crop, and has additional lines in it that wold be useful, and brightens up the view finder. That would be very, very nice. Can anyone confirm that those two lines on the side will yield an 8x10?

The other option is the Ee... I don't need that square format one, and $120.00 is kind of rediculous. I could purchase the MF screen, and the Ee-d for half that...

What do you guys think?

they are replacement focusing screens. You can have them do a variety of things, like add grid lines, crop markers, split focusing circles for better manual focusing etc.

I think mine is the EE-D, that's the one with the rule of thirds lines in it right?

I like it cause it keeps me level, not so much for the rule of thirds. An 8X10 crop would bug me, I crop in my head. If I know if it's going to be mostly 8X10's then I try to keep a mental note.
