I took this 4 or 5 months ago of my 3 year old son and wasn't that keen on it. Just dug it out again and I'm starting to see something I really like in it - just wondered what anyone else thought - c & c would be most helpful :)

BTW the actual image has more contrast and is clearer than what you can see here.

It's too close for my taste but ... it has a wonderful pensive feeling to it. He is lost in thought ... his own little fantasy. I'm sure everyone could come up with a different scenerio as to what that could be. For me, I'll venture that he is daydreaming about a two foot high ice cream sundae topped with whipped cream and a cherry on top.

You've got me thinking about ice cream now :)

Yeah - there's something about it I'm not 100% about - maybe that's it - it might be too close in, but then I feel you might lose some of the detail that does work for me - like the length of the eyelashes.

Personally I love this type of close up crop. I have one very similar to this of my son, taken with only available light. Love it.

I really like it. The DOF and B&W conversion work very well with this image.

Cheers. I'll be looking to do some more of this type so I'll post some up.
