My first impressions of it are good but I wish it had VC. I have only had a chance to take it out one day but I did capture this nice Curve Billed Thrasher with it. I'm considering buying it from him. Is $500 a good deal used for this lens?  -Chris

I've been using this lens a lot lately to capture the local birds. Even thought about putting out 6k for a 500 f/4. But, I'm convinced this lens has the capability of catching super sharp shots, even wide open at 500mm (6.3)  Female cardinal by HisAndHerPhotographs.com, on Flickr
