This is a shot I found the 2nd day I owned by XTI. Needless to say, I'm still learning the camera. Can anyone give me some ideas? Looks like I may need to slow down the ISO.

lens=16-35mm f2.8; settings 1/320; f3.5.

I had the ISO set at 400. Probably needed to be down about 100. EricL

nice shot. i dont see anything neccisarliy wrong with it. nice composition, good subjects in foreground and background. as for your ISO comment, are you saying the full size image is too noisy?

I like the mystery added by the low fog/clouds. That is an impressive mountain. Which one is it?

Harold, this mountain is Byron Peak located near Portage, Alaska. It is a 4400ft peak and part of the Chugach Range. I was standing at about 20ft above sea level when I took the picture. Just 15 minutes before, the entire valley was completely encased in a thick fog bank. EricL

Lovely photo, but have you considered a portrait crop for the central third of the photo? I has holding my hands over the edges and it looks like it would give it more impact by focusing on the key elements of the tree trunks and mountain peak.

Great Shot and you hit the timing just right. I like Rudgej's suggestion, worth looking at to see which works best... :)

This is a beautiful image, but I think rudgej might be on to something. Try a vertical crop. I think it would really make the image into something fantastic!

Great image - looks like a floating mountain.
I like the wide angle perspective - gives the place a savannah-like feel, which contrasts well in the snowy conditions.

Too much of that pale blue sky for me, if it was bluer it would work better, the suggestion of a crop by John works for me too!

Is this what you had in mind, John? Another poster mentioned the pale blue sky so I took a little out. I like it! Thank you very much! EricL
