New Camera Not reading IMG _00001 ...

I recently got a brand new 30D ...The manual Kit lens etc ...All Canon factory wrapped ...After shooting 10 or so pictures I uploaded them using my Microdrive and noticed the img # was not 0010 but 1066 ...So this means this camera has almost rolled over 2k shots and I just bought it!!!

Is this due to my micro drive( Im guessing a big no) and is this something you would return to the store and raise hell about ? Sure 2k isn't anything big , But I didnt pay for a used camera ...Help ?? What would you guys do ..

Hope you formatted the CF in your PC before inserting and taking a shot as per the instructions.

I did not . I didn't do this with my first camera being due to the fact I bought a new card as well ...So The old CF keeps the old info from my camera ?? Is there anyway to start back at zero ?? Thanks ...sucks for me! : p

Format it and try again. Can't hurt.

Of course. You can reset the counter to zero at any point, and it will keep track from there.
