Have not had a real chance to get out with my new 30D, so tried a few shots last night and thought I would share. The light is terrible so apologies for that. Was messing around with the DOF etc and compared to my PAS camera used to be I am amazed. Never used an SLR before and I know these shots are not great but I can see the potential and my addiction has tripled after just using the thing for 1 night and taking a few pics. Only got the Kit lens at the moment but will soon get a nice L when I have learnt more :) Pics dont look so good on here but when full screen the detail is amazing. Love it :)

Hello,

Your camera body is way better than the lens that you have. If you like the camera with the kit lens, you'll be amazed once you try a lens like the EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 USM or the EF 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM, you'll be blown away by the performance with the EF 50mm f/1.4 USM or EF 85mm f//1.8 USM, and you'll need to be commited to the asyLum once you try it with the EF 70-200mm f/4L USM or the EF 17-40mm f/4L USM.

Glad to see that you're having fun with your new toy.

Good starting.
Go out and shoot, there you will have more shots to do and learn on different exposures.

Nice camera i just got mine recently with a kit lens and upgraded my lens too, but til i got my new lens i played around with the kit lens to just have fun in learn. Go out and shoot tons of pictures ( it helped me learn a bit, even though im a noob in the photo world ). By the way, congrats on the camera.
