No disrespect to the great poet but "Leather Rag & Putty Street " is much more distinctive.
They just don't name steets like that anymore.

The inclusion of the sign sets the scene, and also acts as a nice lead-in to the photo. The B&W processing then suits the image to a tee.

Thats another shot I wont bother processing...:(

Seriously, a good shot and it certainly suits B+W. Then again it was a kind of B+W day (well grey actually:( )

Thanks John.
Hawkshead is a very photogenic village but for once it was the street sign that intrigued me. :)

I like this, and the gritty B&W works to good effect, I'd consider cloning the two items indicated (just to tidy up :) )

Thanks for taking the time to post the image, Les.
You're absolutely right and cloned they will be, although I'll leave the original post as is to avoid confusion.

My only excuse is speed was of the essence. ;)

Missed this one....I'd also include that piece of cable coming down the wall beside the window!;)

Lovely shot Cameron, works very well and for someone that I know doesn't usually care for mono work you've made a good job of it and it fits well with the image.:)

Yeah, that shouldn't be too hard to remove with the healing tool.

I enjoyed the scene, Cameron, and the b/w works really well.

This is an awesome image - I love the way you are lead into it, and the street name makes it a great story telling image. BTW, we have some cute street names here, like Dog Flea Alley, Corned Beef Avenue....:D

A lovely shot, Cameron. Well composed and great subject matter. :D

It certainly looks damp, so I suppose you spent a fair amount of time getting wet on the inside too?

That looks better Cameron. The photo could now have been taken a century ago.
