This is one of my favorite places by Las Vegas. It is only about 18 miles away from the city.

Nice shots, Lynne. I'll be going through there again in Feb, on my way to Death Valley and beyond. Did you see wild burros?

Nice shots Lynne,

I was in Las Vegas two weeks ago, and visited Red Rock Canyon. What a great place so Close to Las Vegas. I spent one afternoon and two mornings there. A much better alternative to the casinos for me.

Thanks for sharing

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

I don't have any stills as I only had a video camera when I visited, but another really nice place for similar but different landscape photos can be found on the other side of Las Vegas heading up I-15. It's called Valley of Fire. There are also petroglyphs and some bad specimens of petrified wood in the park. It borders on Lake Mead as well so you can get water shots if you're interested.
