I will be travelling to Denver this Spring - March or April. I will have some good flexibility for when and where I go. Will probably spend a long weekend and will have access to 4WD.

Please, do you have any recommended locations to shoot wildflowers for that time of year. I am likely a bit early for some areas but have never been there in the Spring. Thank you, in advance, for any help. Show me some photos if you don't mind . . .:D

Well, in the mountains, I try to be there the first week of July for peak wildflowers. I'm sure there are some earlier in the flatlands, but I've not been there at that time. March/April is good for the desert areas and Texas hill country.

Sorry, but you won't find much in the way of wildflowers then. The high country is still full of snow. We don't even get daffodils on the front range until at least the middle of April. That is not to say there isn't great opportunities in the mountains--it just won't be wildflowers yet.

Look up (Google) the Crested Butte annual Wildflower Week (usually early July). That week is crazy there, but the week before or after is worth it, or go to another area that week. The San Juans (near Ouray) have some great jeep trails and wildflowers.
