ISO is the sensor sensitivity, and is purely electronic. It won't make a noise. Were you thinking of Image Stabilization (IS)? The SD 600 doesn't have IS.

Hard to say from what you've posted. Are you sure you haven't set start-up and camera action sounds (3rd - Camera Custom or Personal settings - menu on my A620). If it's mechanical, your lens barrel may be out of kilter, or just noisier than the other one(s?) you've heard.

I just bought one for my wife for Christmas. It makes that sound. She won't care, but I think it's a little odd. It sounds the same every thime so I doubt it's a problem.



6D, 60D, Various L and non-L Lenses and more gear than I have time to use. ;)
