Those are qualities that are of less importance IMO. Anyway, I have seen many excellent shots with the Sigma taken by a good shooter and many crummy shots taken with expensive gear. So, it's not a simple 'don't waste your money' answer. The Sigma is very good value and will enable the OP to shoot longer than maybe they can at the moment. Longer lenses do need a mono, tripod or beanbag to give there very best beyond around 100mm IMO. https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1203740
