I do like the B&W version as well! But I think it takes away a bit of the sparkle in his eyes.

i do too, just a bit more contrast is needed. now, do you ever use actinos in photoshop? i think the grunge action would be really good as well.

I see the concept. It would be terrific if you did it again at a distance ... with him in front of a grafitti covered building or train boxcar. I hope you will take that as a challenge and create some of him like that.
