Instead, they have lost dozens of customers with fat wallets based on my story.

Including mine now. :)

ER, I think I'm going to go with B&H.....

One question I have, I'm putting some of the purchase on a CC + a debit card(both have my name on them), can I do it online or do I have to call and order it?

Anybody have an answer to this question?

Can someone tell my why everyone thinks that the XTi is an "upgrade" over the XT? More megapixels, larger screen, 9 focus points (we all use the center point anyway)? I honestly see the Xti as "this year's model" Rebel XT...............

A 30D would be an upgrade - XTi is lateral at best. If you are going to spend a bunch of money you don't have (i.e. credit cards) go for a nice new lens. More bang for your buck rather than getting a black version of your current body.

I suspect you'll need to call. You might be able to:
Use one of the cards to buy a bunch of gift cards then use the gift cards and the other card to pay for the camera on-line, but it's a little too complicated an operation for a computer to handle.

I'm putting $100 on a CC, i'm sure it's not going to break me.

I know they're pretty much the same camera but things I like, it being black, I know it's silly but I never did like the silver body, just never grew on me. I'm not trying to look more professional or anything like that because my photography, isn't at that level. This also has to do with the grip fitting both the xt/xti, and being black too.

Another the larger screen, i know it's not much but it's a BIG improvement over the previous version.

I'm going with B&H so the money I save instead of buying it at a retail store, Im going to save and get a flash.

I'm listening, just with a grain of salt.

here's a bit to add to the best buy sucks posts...

I bought a camera there about 2 years ago, lil 5.25 MP (rather fine res for its age), and a 4 yr service plan through best buy...

The memory was failing to read every other shot so i took it in, gave them my new current phone number, and new address, he asked me if i would like it shipped to my new address, or to the store, i work in the area so i told him to ship it to the store, call me, and i would come get it.

4 weeks went by and i called them about the camera, he said it was shipped a few days earlier, i waited a couple days, no call, no camera

I called back and asked where it was shipped... guy replied to my home, i asked the address, sure enough, MY OLD ADDRESS!

I spoke the manager and he kept insisting i didnt ask for it to be shipped to the store, ofcourse, i didnt ask, the guy who checked it in, best buy employee asked me..

anyways, here was the solution.. the manager told me to go to that address and ask for my camera back..

hahahahaha, i never went back to best buy for anything else for any reason period...

I did recover the camera, but the board was still failing so i trashed it anyways, as i already had a 350D at the time

CLIFFNOTES: check camera in at best buy, best buy ships it somewhere other than to me, solution was for me to go to the address they shipped it to and ask for it..

Best buy -1

If you're going to upgrade make it count and get a 30D.

Love the support of this site.

If I could afford getting a 30d, I would but I can't.

Dude

If you're not made out of money, then keep the XT and keep shooting with it. There is absollutely no reason to upgrade because you're just throwing the money away. XT and XTi are the same cameras - the latter one has a bit more noise.

Save the 800 bucks and you'll be able to replace the shutter on your XT four times. Many pros don't shoot that much in their lifetime.

Costco has the XTi in black or silver and for only $799. Cool thing about Costco is that the guarantee all of their products...shoot the crap out of the XTi, return in when it breaks down for whatever is out then (something better for sure!).
