Congratulations on your purchase. I'm sure you'll be pleased with it. That said, I am amazed at memory card prices you are seeing. I have a few 1GB Ultra II cards, but I only get 48 odd images on one of those. Try looking on ebay for the sellers out of HK. They may look dodgy, but there are a few about with feedback of 100k plus - and that is, after all where they are made. Be sure to read through the description thoroughly and make sure it's an original item though. you should be able to pick up an 8GB CF card (Sandisk Extreme III) for about £70..........

Take a look on ebay for spare batteries, they are amazingly cheaper (and higher mAh) than original. I purchased one just to keep in my bag as a spare for just over £20 - although I've just looked and there is a supplier in the US selling for £2.99 + £7.99 postage!!!?

(this is compared to about £100 for an original)

I think you got it at a pretty good price, and you'll soon get over the slightly guilty feeling of spending a bundle once you start using it. You won't regret it at all! Brilliant camera.

Well done petrolhead. You may feel sick now but after a few clicks of that magic button the pain will go away.

it stops the eye peice fogging up and move the eyepeice away from the camera a little bit which helps to reduce nose marks on the screen ;) for me it was the best investment after buying the 1dmkiin
