FD lenses

I've got a buddy who wants to rid himself of all his 35mm Canon gear, including quite a collection of FD lenses...do these mount to the Digital cameras and work as manual lenses or just no way..nada! he has a 500L
and an 85L..along with some other interesting glass...I'm thinking "no way" , but if "yes way" it could be interesting, even if manual only! Oops, sorry, this probably belongs in "lenses"

This has been much-discussed. If you want good image quality, it requires a hard-to-find Canon FD-EOS converter, and will only work with selected Canon telephotos. Your buddy's 500L is one of them - I have one, and it works very well on my DSLRs. But the converter goes for $800 nowadays. Look here:

ill buy his FD glass =) I have an FD camera and ive been trying to get some more glass for it.

Yeah, I might pull out the old AE-1 soon and start using it... I've had a hankering for something different... if he wants to sell some glass let me know :D
