To make his way back to my home. He's carrying my 30D, and I'm just a bit excited. He stopped by at 9:30 AM, but I was at work, and my office that will receive packages wasn't open till 10. He's making another run later today (I guess they do 2 attempts with 1 day air, as my last lens I got on the second attempt of the day as well). Will it be here by 5? 6? Oh how I hate waiting....

you're not alone. The waiting is the hardest part. I guess I'm lucky (and not because I can spend a boat load of cash in that store) that I live near B&H so I go and get it myself.

I was dying the day I waited for my 30D and lens. The time could not pass quickly enough as I waited for the time that UPS would normally get to me. Every time I order new gear I have my little anxiety thing. Something about photographic toys that does that.

Congrats on new body!
I am lucky since i do not have to live this! I have a store called Henrys in Ottawa that is similar to B&H so i get right away. Sometime the wait is worth while since you pay cheaper!

Hope you enjoy it i sure do enjoy mine, 4 days now.....

I'm thinking about changing careers and become a Brown Truck Driver. Imagine a job where everyone's glad to see you :).

LOL, my friend says the same thing about a job he has lined up in a year when he gets out of the military...driving a budweiser beer delivery truck.... :)

Well....around 5:30:

IMAGE: http://www.jordansteele.com/forumlinks/30Dbadge.jpg

:D

Haven't taken any shots with it that are worth anything...just high ISO indoor stuff (which is VERY nice, even 3200 is usable). First impressions: AF is FAR faster than on my Rebel....viewfinder is noticably bigger and brighter, and I love the 2.5" LCD. The whole thing just feels so much more polished and responsive compared to my Rebel.

Oh, and if anyone is looking for an original Rebel with Grip, it'll be for sale sometime in the next week and a half.

Yea with all the weather that marched through this week I was biting my nails yesterday waiting on the brown truck (in UPS lingo it is called a Package Car) with my 16-35mm lens onboard. Tracking said it was “Out For Delivery” but by 7 PM I had given up and figured I wasn’t going to see the lens until Monday which would be to late because I needed the lens for this weekend. Low and behold though the Package Car Driver showed up at 7:10 with my lens. I thanked him profusely and asked if I was the last stop. He said only thirty more to go then he could go home.

Many a time has the tracking info showed "out for deliver" and I didn't get the package. Our UPS driver has an occasional attitude. Of course, its all part of some perverted conspiracy. If they're delivering something that doesn't interest me, it will get here early. If its a camera body or lense, it will come from New York to Colorado via Madagascar.

Seems like youd be seeing a lot more UPS trucks getting looted if that were the case. ;)

Its a shame they havent come up with an option to allow recipients to jsut come pick up their package from a UPS warehouse. UPS could save some $, and recipients can get their package at there earliest convinence.
