What's the flash sync speed on an A620?

I'm experimenting with firing my AB strobe from my A620 and I set it on 1/250, just as I do on my 30D but I looked in the specs for the A620 and can't find the actual sync speed. Does anyone know what it is or what would be a technically correct shutter speed to use with external flash?

Sync speed's not particularly an issue with the A620, unlike with DSLRs. With a DSLR it's a problem because of the way a focal plane shutter works (essentially a moving slit across the sensor; exposure time is governed by how wide the slit is; at 1/250 sec. or faster, the slit is at least as wide as the sensor). The sensor on the A620's essentially always live, and trapped when you press the shutter. Don't worry too much about the sync speed unless you start seeing problems (possibly the flash not being able to peak before the shutter action is completed).

Keep going higher... Since you have no shutter it should sync at almost any speed.

If there is a problem you'll most likely see it around 1/800 due to the AB units flash duration being around there.

I just tried the A620 going from 1/200 all the way up to 1/2500 and couldn't see a difference or problem. Unless I'm just missing something I guess the lack of an actual focal plane shutter eliminates the issue of sync speed.
