Help with 1D Mark II

Ok i last used the camera on thursday the 30th worked fine, Bare in mind i used a 28-80 3.5-5.6. Today when i put the 70-200 2.8 L it will not focus clearly at all it is off by a bit dose anyone know what is wrong. The lense seems to work fine on my friends rebel xt.:(

Have you checked the dioptre settings near the viewfinder? Try rolling that to the different settings, it may have been moved accidentally.

Do the photos still turn out okay even though the focus looks off in the viewfinder?

Yea its not that it is a hair off on focus is it the body or the lense i have no other lens to check with so im at a stump. How much dose canon charge to check cameras if you know.

could try cleaning the contact's on lens and camera .

thx i cleaned it with a soft cloth with alcohol and still. On that note it dose seem to work some times and then like it struggles to get in focus on other times, Kinda wierd.

try moving the limit switch and IS switch in a sharp motion could be a bit of dirt in there just a thought.

that made it worst even more out of focus from switching and i have the non IS one damn now what is it the body or the lense ????

very hard to say as it could be elitrical info not being sent to the body OR the body not reciving it when it is sent.
sorry but it does confirm a problem that needs sorting, at this point i wout take the battery out of the camera, clean the lens and camera contac's again move that switch again , put it all back to gather and see if its ok - i cant sujest anything else but good luck

are the pictures themselves out of focus as well? or is it just when you look through the viewfinder?
