right, well since im non-denominational my christmas day/boxing day are usually the only 2 days in the year i get to play computer games (due work), since nothing (facilities etc) is open, friends are doing xmas with their own families, and so on.

so what should i get to fill my time this year? i usually like games like Far cry, half life 2, battlefield2, etc etc. not excessively gory FPS's in other words.

and to those who are going to cry foul and tell me to spend it with my fellow man etc etc, i have one word for you. Meh. :)

Actually, spending the 2 days doing whatever you want to do (even if it is playing video games:rolleyes: ) sounds like a fine way to spend your time off. I don't play video games so I have no reccomendations for you... but enjoy!

I'll second BF2142, i haven't played it much as i've been busy but first on impression is seems good (not great as i haven't had time to get used to it)

Make sure you organise a veterans account with EA first to give you a 'free' unlock, i didn't then found out i couldn't do it because only one account can be registered to each CD key

sounds lovely to me.. My christmas is pleasant but dictated by what all those random people who like me a little bit want it to be.. My favorite part of the whole dang day is sneaking off to the movies in the afternoon.. I think you should buy whatever video game strikes your fancy.. But, can you really play a video game for two straight days?.. maybe you should splurge on two or three...

well i like story driven games a lot....i did half life 2 in 4 days solid before i went to uni, because i knew that i wouldnt get a chance for four years after that :P very easy to get hooked into the plot.

so far i've got hl2 episode 1, and F.E.A.R in mind. i played the fear demo and the little invisible buggers with glowy red eyes freaked me right out.

actually...

to see if you like it search for FEAR on the usual game sites (eg gamespot.com) and you can get the entire multiplayer client to test to see if you like it.... FREE!

How about taking some photos, which will get you doing your hobby more and probably get you outside which is always a good thing.

Where are you that it is so cold? It is 9 degrees right now here, so still not too bad. Don't let cold stop you.

ok well not exactly Siberian winter outside, but cold and wet and soggy and grey. the kind of weather where you want a cup of tea immediately upon entering the house.
